Fuel rail

I'm posting this for my father in law. He has an 89 Ranger with a 2.9 Liter. A mechanic has it now and had it to replace a head gasket, now he says that the fuel rail is leaking, says it must have been rust. Is this not made out of aluminum like my 92 4.0 liter? Can anyone tell me what model vehicles have a 2.9 L so I might find one at a salvage yard?

They are steel and the inside rusts quickly when engine sits without fuel in the rail. The 2.9L engine is found in '86-'90 Bronco II's and '86-'92 Ranger pickups. There are 4 bolts holding the fuel rail in place. I've got an extra off of an '88 engine that looks great from the outside, but has internal rust from sitting dry for 2 years.
