Fuel Pump Strainer and Fuel Tank Size

I posted some questions about a problem with my 94' Mazda B3000 when it reached a 1/4 of a tank of gas it would shut off coming to a stop. I also asked about my fuel tank size. Both of the questions were unanswered so I removed the posts.
I don't care that they were not answered because I usually figure things out or find the answer else where.
I created this post to be informative.
The truck shutting off issue was due to the fact that I did not position the fuel pump strainer correctly. The correct way to position the fuel pump strainer is facing forward and getting the strainer as parallel with the side of the tank as you can. I searched the web and found others on different vehicles that had similar issues. I knew it was not the sending unit of the float not working properly because it worked before I had changed the fuel pump and the only thing that changed was me installing the new fuel pump and new strainer.

Now the fuel tank size is 19.5-20 gallons. I found some info saying that the Mazda B3000 with a plastic fuel tank was 19.5 so we will round up and say 20. I have not ran out of gas yet to 100% find out but I have a good guess because I put 18 gallons in it and was still not on E.

Figured I post this so others can have access to this info. It might be a good idea to put this with the tech about the sending unit.

there is a bit more. depending on the tank style and application...there are different mesh count and materials ....diesel to gas..... and orientations due to tank shape and sump style. the rear tank faces rear depending on pump style.
