Fuel pump removel

I got the lines to the fuel pump off and I got the top bolt loose and ready to come out but Im having a hell of a time trying to get the bottom bolt out. I cant even get my tools in there to get a wrench on it. Whats the best way of getting the SOB out of there? Its an 84 BII.

works great. the socket is built into the universal joint so you have just enough room! best $10 invested for the job.

I had to do the bottom one from under the vehicle. Removal of the power steering pump helps if you have one.

Thats what I was thinking. I wasnt sure if it would be easier to remove the PS pump or to take the oil presure sender out. Getting to it for the under side seems to be the only way to get to it.

Don't forget to grease the pump rod end that goes into the fuel pump either. And ya they give just enough space to have the rod slide in or out of the block too. Safe to say that these engines weren't designed around these trucks either.

Thats a good tip. My luck I would drop the rod and get it lost some how. LOL. Im gonna get-er-done on tuesday.
