Late last year I replaced my in line fuel pump after the original had gone bad. It’s now going bad again and this time around I want to convert the in tank pump to high pressure and do away with the two pump system. What pump should I go with?

First you have to stick with your current in tank assembly, i.e. the sender and float for fuel level

Ford changed the OHMS for these in 1989 Rangers when they went to the one pump setup
So if you updated to a 1989-1992 fuel pump assembly your gas gauge wouldn't work any more

But you can buy just the later model pump only, 1989-1992, and fit it to the old assembly, read that 1990 Mustang pump fit, but never tried it myself, but I would think the 1989-1992 2.9l Ranger pumps would work as well

Exactly the answer I was looking for, thank you

Kemso 340 lph is a drop in. Both my 1988 and my 2011 have one, putting one in my 1996 today. $35 on ebay, and blows walbro out of the water. Let's you go to a one pump system as well, just replace frame rail pump with second fuel filter.
