I am using a 302 that before the truck is functional will be built to a 331 stroker with a 750 truck avenger carb, I am running a fuel cel without a sending unit in the tank, as far as I know my two options are a mechanical pump from a 70-73 econoline van with power steering, or a electric pump. What are you guys using and what is my best and most reliable option?

Holley Blue pump with regulator set at 4.5 psi.600 cfm Edelbrock carb.

well if your off roading and have a fuel cel in it.. look at the Holley Blue pump it is a more reliable pump then mechanical pump and by puting the regulator on it,, it well work good with your 750 truck avenger carb.. i have one on a 351w and have NP with it at all.. mine set at 7.5 psi and i have a 750 proform race carb...

Mr. Gasket 12D pump. 30 gal/hr, 3-7 psi. This one's enough to feed a 331 with three holley 2 bbl carbs at WOT thru and beyond a 1/4 mile run. The one in my Ranger's been doing the job for 8 years now. Got another feeding that 331 in my 77 Comet now. No regulator needed. Advance Auto and Autozone stock em.

mr. gasket 12d is a deisel pump, 12s is the gas pump, looks like a good option, simple design and without needing a regulator there is less to go wrong, and for less than $40 I can afford to have a spare one in the tool box. thanks guys.

Sorry about the suffix, it's been awhile since I last looked it up. Seems like there were 2 or 3 different "12" series pumps with different suffixes. The one on my Ranger is actually a Purolator pump that's identical to the Mr.Gasket one.

I had a $15 Purolator on my first build. It lasted several years w/o a problem. Now the Ranger uses a Holley Red pump w/ no regulator...got it on ebay used for $40 shipped so I fugured I'd try it since they are rebuildable. It's been good for almost two years.
