After a little hiatus due to weather (have I mentioned how much I hate TX heat?) I've continued the journey to bring the '97 back to life from its 10 year hibernation in the field. I yanked the fuel pump out but now am at a dilemma as to how to best clean the tank and the fuel that turned to sludge (not planning to drop it unless I absolutely have to). Thoughts and ideas would be very welcome.

I think Ernest P Warrel says it best, not sure how to spell what he says but that's what I'm picturing :), that's gross...

I didn't expect to see all the chunks in there... not sure how best to get that out aside from putting a couple gallons of gas in there, putting a stick in there and mixing it up and somehow vacuuming the mess out (do NOT use a shop vac with gasoline) but a new pump sock and getting as much of the old fuel out with a junk towel might be enough...

I see the cracks in the fill hose, I attempted to buy a new hose on Amazon and failed as the one I got was a couple inches short so I resorted to using some "pipe wrap tape" from Home Depot or wherever, that was like 3 years ago and it doesn't leak gas when I fill the tank anymore...

I got a siphon pump I can use to suck the fuel out, but I'm not sure if it'll pick up the sediment.

I used one of the O’reilly filler neck hoses and it only lasted a year. The ones at fillernecksupply.com are much better.
