Fuel or timing problem?

2001 4.0 sohc,replaced all the chain tesioners(yea fun right)pulled back out set timing again,cams off 1-2 thousandths,almost perfect,idels good now but free reving 3500-4000 acts like it has a rev limiter,on the road acts fine,feels like kickdowns missing but does accelerate,any ideas? thanks alot,heads still hurting from chains/tensioners
