My friend has a 93 ranger with the 4.0L. He has a gas leak on the fuel lines that go from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. He said that it leaks where there is a y in the line and ford wants $300 for new lines. I was wondering if braided steel line would work with an fittings. I have not seen it and am going off of what he told me but the only problem i see is getting a fitting to connect to the factory fuel rail.

I don't know what the right fitting is, however a hose fitting company would be able to put the right fittings on for you. Plus they should know by looking what fittings to use if you bring in the piece you need made. And hydraulic hose line would be overkill for a fuel line so you'd be good to go.

Don't be scared to ask around, some of the places here are alot cheaper than I expected. Was going to run me ~$10 to have a custom solid brake line flared, to my desired length with whatever ends I wanted on it. Parts store wanted the same price for a generic length line with ends.
