I got a new fuel rail and I need to get the fuel line off the old one I went and got the tool but no matter how hard I push or which way I push it I can’t get the fuel line to come off. Does anyone know what I should do or what I’m doing wrong?

There is probably dirt and dust built up inside the fitting. I use brakeleen and/or wd-40 and air pressure to try to get the connection cleaned out.

That didn’t work I tried cleaning it out the best I could it doesn’t look dirty or anything but I still can’t get it to budge

Iirc, there is little metal fingers that point down into the fuel line. When you push the tool into the garter spring the spring forces the fingers up releasing the fuel line. If the tool isn't pushing the garter spring back far enough the fingers won't release. Perhaps using a small screwdriver to push the spring back and try to work it around as deep as you can. The idea is to move the spring to dislodge any dirt, not to actually remove the line.
Also, you need to push in on the tool and at the same time pull the line out. Sometimes pushing the line in first before pulling helps the tool push in enough to lift the fingers.
These fittings are a real pain....

Thank you so much I changed the way I was doing it and used a screwdriver to push a little bit before using the tool and it worked
