Fuel Injector Clip

I'm re-assembling my Fuel Injectors and rail. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the horse shoe shaped clip come in direct contact with the O ring and pushes it up into the rail?

Also, concerning the upper intake, noticed these aluminum intakes get tarnished or oxidized. Other than buffing them with a soft wire brush or steel wool pad, there isn't reaally much that can be done to make these look better?

I also, took the time to replace the cork valve cover gaskets with rubber ones.

If I get an answer on the clip above, I have everything put back together correctly and ready to hook all my hoses and connectors back up.

Well I found out it is best to attach the injectors to the rail first because of the rail legs being in the way if the injectors are placed in the intake first. Also, good thing to put a film of oil on the upper and lower O Rings. Pops right in the rail and intake. The clips go to the first circular groove on the injector and the slots on the clip holds the rim of the cap on the rail.

Does anyone know of a better way to clean the upper intake other than a detail brush?

Green coarse scotch-brite pads work pretty good
