Yes, you can make more power carburated. The downside is driveability.
Well its for a Prerunner and from what i have come to realize is that my motor in the truck is newer than a 86 (from diagrams for installing gauges) i think its about a 92 93 2.3.....will it still work?
For you people that think a 2.3 EFI system can make power anywhere close to a carb, You couldn't be more wrong. Do a little more research.
Esslinger and Racerwalsh have plenty of Info on this.
As far as making EFI power on a v-8. You CAN make as much horsepower with EFI as with a carb or more but, It will cost more than the average college tuition.
On the other hand, I wouldn't want a prerunner with a carb. It will have a lot of problems in the rough stuff.
I still disagree.....lets see some data.....
he has to be talking stock efi...![]()
Even going stock 2.3L with a carb to 2.3L stock with EFI, there was a power increase. Another advantage of going to EFI, there is also better ignition, and timing control with a PCM.
