Fuel Inj. Pressure Regulator

I have looked at a fuel Pressure regulator; they have a barb fitting on it, and the auto parts store lists the OEM part as obsolete. Has anyone replaced a regulator and "cut in" to the fuel line after removing the original regulator? Do you remove the Duck bill clip or just cut the regulator out? The Sorensen regulator goes for $25. and if they had the OEM....$225 I would like to go the way of the lesser but not if it will degrade the system.

I went to Rockauto.com they had them correct to the unit and not at $225 cant remember exactly what I paid but I know it wasn't over $100. bucks

I think I did use a barbed end on just one end and a supplied clamp and short hose. worked fine

Thanks for the reply, I got a Sorensen brand from Autozone and it came with a info sheet, you just dissect the hose on the original and connect the new one, got a good price on this, some AZ's list it for $85, got this one for $25 !!
