'88 bronco II, 2.9, auto, 4wd, tach in gauges.

3 months ago i added fuel it was fine, it showed empty later on but i still had half a tank kept driving and i noticed the needle went way past the empty mark to where i cant see it any more.

now i added $50. to my tank and the needle dident even move....

is there an anti slosh circut on thies gauges like '93-'97 that could be bad?

has any one seen this before.

1st gen gauges are notorious for going bad

you'll have to change out the sending unit in the tank

its probably just the float....thats what i found most the time, the float gets a hole in it and doesn't float anymore

Ok this struck me odd, I was unaware that it has a 23 gallon tank, $70 dollars later it kicked off. the gauge is reading full, I drove about 40-60 miles and the gauge is at half.

im thinking it has a short sweep sending unit from something else. Is this possable?

Im the 5th owner and the previous owner was a tweeker wanna be tech, who knows what he did.

Thanks for the help....
