My fuel guage died a while ago. I got a known good sender and put it in when I replaced the pump in the tank. The guage still does not work. I have done some mods to my guage setup. I installed a triple guage set. I did not hook the stock oil pressure guage backup. Did this cause the fuel guage to not have enough resistance to work or do I need to look elsewhere?

91 views and no reply tells me that I must not be the only one with this problem. I have done some more research on this issue. The gauges get power from a wire that is supposed to be black with a green stripe. I have not tested this yet nor have I tested the voltage relay that controls the gauge power. My horn as well as my cruise control don't work as well. I am wondering if the all are fed with the same power?

I tested my sender with an ohm meter and its is working. The wire goes from the sender to the gauge. The gauge needs low voltage. There is according to the diagram that I looked at on the autozone site a black wire with a green stripe. It should go into a resistor and then to the gauge. From what people tell me on this site is that the horn and cruise control are on the same wire but I am not sure about the gauge power.

Does anyone have a good diagram for the dash wires? I'm looking for a diagram that shows cruise control, horn and gauges.

Thanks for the link. I hope to get back into the truck by the weekend. I have a newer gauge panel with a tach and want to install that. So under the dash will be getting some serious work. Fix the cruise control, horn and gas gauge. I have the kit and wires in for my head unit and while the dash is off I want to do it all at once.
