Fuel gauge issues...

Since I have my bronco up on a lift to do the rear brake shoes and drums I decided I'd drop the fuel tank to see why my gauge doesn't work. The yellow wire that goes to the gauge board was broken off so I had to re-solder that on. Also the little leg for the float to stop when it's empty was broken. The JB weld is setting now for that. And last but not least... the float wasn't even attached to the sending unit!

Hopefully in 4 hrs when the jb weld is set I get it back together and have a fuel gauge again...

How'd it go? I replaced the whole sending unit/pump/float unit with a new one on my 88 and I STILL don't have a working gauge....

I'm feeling lazy today so it's not done yet... tomorrow or wednesday I'll put it up.. it was just a long day at work..

Forgot to post what all I ended up doing on the bronco to make my gauge work.

First off the JB Weld wasn't submersible in fuel safe like things online said it would be. So what I did was figure out where I needed the float to stop for the bottom end. Took off the cover for the sender and ran a screw through it to act as a stop Trimmed off the end of the screw since it was a little long and slapped it all back together.

I got the truck all put back together and had just under 3/4 tank of gas I had the truck on a lift and used a jack to put the tank in so weight wasn't an issue for me.
