fuel gauge/fuel cell??

i want to put a fuel cell in my truck since im going full aftermarket gauges, my question is how do i hook up a fuel gauge/sending unit in a fuel cell?

are you going fuel cell only because your changing your gauges?

no, that would be dumb, im doing it cause my gas gauge doesnt work anyways and my dad has an old aluminum fuel cell. so its free and i would rather have a 20 gallon fuel cell in the back than my 17 gallon log catcher underneath it.
