How do I identify what type frt axle is in my 05 sporttrac with a 4:10 gear
Is a 35 dana LSD or open carrier.

I'm 90% sure none of the Dana 35 SLA axles had a LSD from the factory.

To my knowledge the only RBV with a limited slip front diff was 80's D28 TTB's and they are rare as hens teeth.

I also would be blown away if any of the front ends on Rangers ever had any kind of carrier other than an open. 🧐

But I am also pretty unfamiliar with SLA front ends.

We sold a few F150's and Bronco's in the 80's with Traction Lok front and rear, I've never heard of it in another model. You could climb a tree in a straight line but they were treacherous driving on slippery roads with the hubs locked.

there is a number stamped on the tube. that is Dana's number, it can be decoded on their website.

Add the Ranger to that as well, apparently the Ranger was available with a trac-lok front diff too, just as rare if not more rare...going to say more rare as I did run across an 87 Ranger a while back with a factory trac-lok front and rear, wish I had the 3700 bucks for it, it was in really good condition with less than 100k on it.

I have seen one Expedition with it, and I suspect that I owned another one. The 97 I had did some weird things in turns that I never bothered to look into that kind of almost make sense if it had LSD up front.
