Ok to start I've been having a short issue with Multiple circuits and it's causing fuses to pop for my headlight/igniotion/interior lights and power. The visible link oat the starter solenoid caught fire one day so I put in an in-line and that fuse keeps popping. So I've been checking power and ground. Well when ever the fuse pops it has a ground to that wire. It's supposed to be power only. So tracing the wire it's black with a orange stripe btw. It goes to both the headlight switch and the fuse panel. From the fuse panel it lights the interior light. That was my first issue. Dome lights were causing a ground. So I pulled the bulbs and problem solved. Don't really care for those. From the switch only two wires have ground one of which I'm having the biggest issue with. The wire is brown. And goes five different places. Lol I cut the apart because they had ground. So then doing that only one had ground. Traced it to signal lights. The side and the turns all share the same brown power wire. When taking the all the bulbs out ground is gone. But placing one back in makes ground come back. Why

The reason you see ground with the bulbs in and not with them out is because the bulbs are grounded.

Every electrical circuit needs a power, a load, and a ground. It looks like this P---LOAD---G.

Now that bulb has continuity to it, if it didn't it couldn't light up. When you take that bulb out your circuit looks like this P--- ---G.

See the problem?

i see, thanks man. so then these wires should be ground then when the circuit is completed by the bulb. thats good. that ones answered.

ill have another for you tomorrow. i have to trace another wire that has ground. could be power but i dont know. its a wire either going to or coming from the headlight switch. it blue with a red stripe. ive got as far as the fuse box. with that wire.

Blue and red from the main switch is dash illumination.

I'm getting a ground from that wire. Ill be tracing it tonight, any ideas where it could be coming from.

Found a pin out for the headlight switch. It shows which wire are battery. It helps. Also it shows where all the wires go and what they are. Makes it a whole lot easier.
