i have a 95 4x4 4.0 Ranger XLT. its got 31" tires, 3.73 gears, 4" rough country lift with 2" coil spacers in the front cuz the springs sagged.

the sway bar in the back broke off before i bought the truck, however the sway bar in the front is still installed. does having one and not the other throw anything off? when i get it flexing as much as it will go i hear what seems to be a loud creaking, could this be caused by the sway bar up front? my frame is strong too so i doubt thats the source of the noise.

thanks!

Most people just toss them both in the trash.

I find these trucks ride better without them.

Most around here ditch it and never look back.

The thing with the TTB suspension is that the stiff coils and geometry of how the suspension works allows one to take the swaybar off without too many ill side effects.

Yes it will have more body roll etc, but the front suspension will now be able to operate as designed: independantly.

Ditch it, and if for some reason you hate the way it drives, put it back on. My hunch is that you won't miss it.

I haven't had one on in years, and I sit 6" taller that stock with 33's AND drive in excess of 60 miles everyday at or above the speed limit.

Ditching the front sway bar.... Interesting...

Does this apply to older model rangers? I have a 85 2.8 v6 4wd longbed ranger and I've got the front end all tore apart to replace the radius arm bushings, and was holding off on it while trying to find the correct sway bar bushings. Ditching the sway bar would sure make this easier (and cheaper!!)

Side note: This makes sense to me now that I think about it. I have a 84 BII v6, and since i need to pull the radius arm brackets off it for the ranger, i was looking around under there and noticed that there is no sway bar on the front, but there is on the back.

Thanks guys.

exactly what i needed

This is the info I was seeking ,thank you:icon_thumby: and to Ranger1911 my 86 is lifted 4 inches with 32's and cheap gas shocks and it does FINE in the ride and flex department -No bars on either end but I needed info on 93-97 and found it here !
