my front tires are bowing out and running on the inside of the tires.. someone told me balljoints to line them straight back to normal... anyone have any ideas what the problem could be..

Could be worn out ball joints. Also likely to be a bad toe setting if the tires are bowed out towards the front of the vehicle. if the tires also look like this from the front: /---\ then your coils could be sagged and needs some steel washers underneath em (this would be whats causing the inside wear as well). Maybe someone else can chime in and confirm or deny my assumptions.

Can we get a picture please? :D

do you have a lift kit under the truck?
I have been dealing with the camber issue on my Ranger since I installed my Skyjacker Class 2 back in 2000. Yesterday I underwent putting 1.5 spacer under the front springs and sat the drivers side back on the ground and the camber is pretty close to 0 so I will play with the passengers side after work tonight. I have also upgraded the balljoints on both sides to moog as they are greasable and seem to be built a bit heavier then th estock stuff was.

Most likely the problem is the ball joints. Get new ones and have the truck aligned.

To check and be sure jack one tire off the ground and grab it at the 12 and 6 o clock positions and see if there is any play, if there is even the slightest amount its time to replace them [balljoints].

And for good measure while you are there grab at the 3 and 9 o clock positions to check for TRE wear. Again if there is any play replace the TRE's/draglink.

And user aspevacek, have you tried putting the pivot bolt in the upper (4") hole? With the heavier 4.0L its actually better this way and results in less camber problems (i'm assuming your having problems with negative camber) because Skyjacker uses the same coil for all RBV variants despite their weight differences out at the nose. But if you got a spacer underneath there sounds like you got it sorted out.

Could need ball joints but sagging front springs will also cause a major toe-out condition. You could have it aligned if the ball joints are ok. Probably has a lot of negative camber too, so it will likely need new camber/caster bushings installed to correct everything.

sounds like the tires are leaning in at the top? sounds like worn out springs and in need of an alignment. ball joints probably need replacing as well, but the springs are probably more of a contributing factor.

Actually I ran it in the 4" upper hole since 2000 but the cambe rwas always too extreme. Now the truck is set on the lower hole. The 1.5 in spacers did the perfect trick to fix it. The shop did my alignemt the othe rday and got me to a perfect camber setting. I spoke with Skyjacker today to ask about the 8" lift sprigns to see if they may be a fix for the front of the truck and allow me to get rid of the spacers.
