those kits are cheap and you do get what you pay for do yourself a favor and buy good parts from rockauto like raybestous you will be much happier. it will cost more but you will only have to do the job once..

for the SLA (short-long-arm) front systems starting in 98 there are 2 types of upper control arms.

any Ranger with TORSION BAR front suspension be it 2 or 4 wheel drive takes the same upper control arms. they are the bigger arms, have bigger ball studs in them. some arms have a replaceable ball-joint feature.

from 98 on 2wd Rangers could have either COIL or TORSION BAR front suspensions.

the COIL trucks take a smaller upper control arm with smaller ball-studs.
the ball joint is part of the arm and is not replaced separately.

2wd Rangers with the TORSION BAR fronts are considered "heavy-duty", various models have them.

to confuse matters, both will bolt to the frame mounts, but will only attach to the correct steering knuckle because of the different ball-stud sizes, and overall lengths.

lower ball joints and tie rod ends are the same for all.

on the TORSION BAR systems the passenger side upper control arm is usually a 2-piece design, but replacements are also available as a 1 piece.

the kits that show significantly different upper arms should be the one, the kits with 2 identical upper arms are for the smaller coil systems 2wd.

explorer 95-01 is the same as ranger torsion bar 98+

you will probably need a camber bolt kit to get the alignment correct.
