How hard is it to replace the front main seal on the 4ALD? Its only like 5bucks for the seal, but what would I need?
I was driving with two 4-wheelers/quads in the bed of my supercab and white smoke started pouring out from under the truck. I pulled over, I could see tranny fluid dripping onto the exhaust pipe that runs under the truck and visably see fluid comming from between the engine and tranny. I nursed it to a small gas station and thats where its sitting until I tow it to a friends today.
The truck had been started up once a year for 5 years, ,but never driven. IE: Put into gear and driven around. Could my little trip cause the seal to give out because it had gotten rotted and dried up?
