I really don't know what section this would go in, so sorry folks.

But where can i find front mountin hooks for my 99 ranger? I have gotten stuck a couple of times and the rear mount isn't all that accessible.

You mean like tow hooks??

I have a set with bolts and all in my garage, after the lift I didn't want to hack up my bumper for them.

If that's all you need....... you should have stock bolt hole locations, and a junkyard would be full of them, or theres probably tons of guys like me.

Frank

Are you asking about front or rear?? You mentioned the rear is hard to get to, leading me to believe you want something new for the rear....

It's called a frame mounted reciever hitch.

If it's for the front, your profile says 4x4, so you've already got the proper crossmember for the hooks to bolt to. Any towhook for a 98+ ranger will bolt onto your truck, just make sure you've got the full crossmember behind the bumper.

I already got a reciever for the truck, but it hangs low for my liking so i wanna get a different bracket. and yeah, i see the holes for the bolts for the hooks. and i got a bull guard that i wanna get rid of too.

gimme that bull guard then!!!!!!!!!!

A rear hitch is the best recovery point.....easiest, cheapest(youve already got it), and most practical. I run a shackle insert that has a 7/8" shackle. Pic below.

For the front, you can run the stock towhooks, or do what I did, front hitch. That dinky crossmember WILL bend and twist up with a decent yank. Same insert in my front hitch as my rear. etrailer.com for it...about $30 each.

Oh yeah....you can find those stock towhooks here or any other ranger/RBV based board, eBay, junkyards, craigslist, etc.

The factory rear hitch or a Hidden Hitch both tuck in pretty close to the bumper.

Where did you get that front hitch or is it custom made?

Never mind, that's where my license plate is...

It should be pretty easy to fab up a license plate bracket out of a receiver cover. Seen it done before. Just sayin'....

i found a pair of tow hooks on a suburban at the junkyard for 2 bucks a piece, just saying you can go look and probably find a set.

shane post the pics of your front hitch with out the bumper and what not so they can see it better.

Shanes set up is sweet i plan on doing a set up like his on my truck i just have to figure out some way to mount it between the frame rails on my 94
