Front facing headers

Going to have the exhaust outlet in front of the front tires? I've seen that on some turbo vehicles. Otherwise, why?

Yes, in front of the tires is cool. But i am looking for an exhaust package for an Na 408 with 600 plus hp. The 40 year old idea that 1.5 inch primary tri y headers is the one and only answer is not going to fly.. Looking for a good set up that goes beyond what if and maybe.

There has been quite a few forward facing setups.

600 na hp is tough to exit without excessive heat......loop across and down the sides with 3.5 should move some heat.

The stang conventional stuff is nice though.

Are you going to take it off of any sweet jumps?

heres a reverse header on a friends built LS1, 8-1 collector and it is a rotary fire pattern for creating a vacuum in the exhaust to help move more air out. the truck runs many many desert and highway miles with out heat issues. sounds INSANE as well.

From the research I've done over the last year or so, nearly all forward facing turbo headers will hit something in the Ranger engine bay, especially with a V8 installed. At least on my 87.. If you figure something out then post it here.

I think buying some header flanges and a huge box of tubing is the only sensible way to go if you want a system that fits really well.

That or fender well headers. You would figure that after 30-40 years of v8 swaps into these little trucks that somebody somewhere would be making a more performance oriented set of headers.

Really wish i was a better welder, little late now, but if anyone has any pics of a sbf in a ranger with front facing headers post them up.
