Alright, well I want to lift just my front end about 6 inches on my 1999 2WD Ford Ranger. Im really on a budget so thats a big concern. I heard that coil overs would work the best but I could really use some advice. Thanks.

3-5 is really all you should lift it, Bro. Go to Ebay and search for 2wd lift kits. I lifted mine 5 inches an I run 33x12.5 KO tires. The next year I added a 3 inch PA bl...did not need it, but I just wanted to add it.

Here is a picture from early 2001 right after I get the lift installed. It took a buddy and me about 3 hours to to the lift. I added a Fabtech spindle lift and Springtech 2 inch taller coils. I had to align the front end. I bought my 99 Ranger new in July 99. I added the bl with the same buddy in 2002. It took about 4 hours total to do it. I have never had an issue with any of the parts. I trail ride the same places I take my Jeeps. It is a great handling truck and it is very smooth on the roads.

With the bl kit added in 2002. This a current picture of my Ranger taken this year.

I was only gonna lift my front end, I'm going for a prerunner look. Would that lift kit on eBay still work or was that more of a leveling kit. And I would also have to extent my brake lines when going that high in the front right?

I did not touch my brake lines. They give you plenty of line from the factory. I also added a 4 1/2 add-a-leaf at the back I forgot to mention. I get a lot of waves from Jeeps and other truck owners and I get a lot of 'Darn, man, that truck is really sharp' compliments in parking lots and stop lights.

If you are going for the prerunner look it won't look right unless you get glass front fenders to finish the look. If you don't add glass fenders at the front at least lift the back a few inches. It will finish that look you want.

I see some mid sized and full sized trucks with 'way too much' front end lifts here in Florida and everybody laughs at the trucks when they see them. They look really retarded with the front sitting up about a foot or so above the front tires and the rear is sitting almost on top of the rear tires.

If I were to but one of those lift kits for my front end, who it be better to install it myself, or would i just be better off paying to get it done?

Depends on your ability.... It's not that hard, held on only by ball joints and tie rods i believe.

Alright. And does anyone know where I could get fiberglass fender flares?

Search this site, and there are some really nice glass fenders on Ebay I see all the time. Search on Ebay for Ford Ranger Prerunner.

Fiberwerx is a good brand. All fenders, being fiberglass, are obviously not gonna like hits. So take care!

Do you guys think that 3.5 rise, and 3.5 flare would look good? or should i just go bigger. And im also having trouble finding a prerunner skid plate.
