Front driveshaft play

today i went to check my front drive shaft ( i could here some clicking last time in 4x4 reverse low) and there was about 1" play on the drive shaft (transfer case end)

is this too much, or normal?


i'm on my way towards a junk yard and he has a 2011 drive shaft with almost no mileage on it i could rip the shaft off for 50$

Not a powertrain expert, but wouldn't that be the bearings? unless the driveshaft is physically shorter?

could this be the cause the the clicking when in reverse 4x4 low on a incline ?

just went to Ford, i have 1 month powertrain left they have to replace the entire front driveshaft

i guess i have been driving, and doing some heavy off roading with a bad Front Driveshaft for the past 4 years, shocking how long a bad part can last

Make sure they check the bearings on the transfer case. My first thought reading your post was bearings.
