so i got a set of 2inch leafs for free, i dont want it to be nosediveing. what coils should i use? i only have 31's on 15inch wheels

You could add a set of coil spacers up front or I know some people swap out for stock F-150 coils and get about 2 inches of lift, more or less.

well my front coils are toast, so i think the f150 coils are it. what yea truck should i look 4?

I've never done the swap before so I can't say for certain. But I'd probably guess to look for a truck built within a similar year to yours. Somebody else here has to know more.

You gotta be careful with those F150 coils though.

They are stiff as hell. They are also slightly bigger. I know they are also hard to align with stock brackets.

I'd go with a set of coils from the J-yard and steel washer spacers or a new set of leveling coils.

4wheel parts told me there is no such thing for my 89 ranger

Wow....are they stupid?

Skyjacker makes a 2" coil for sure. You'd be able to use it and align afterwards with a set of adjustable bushings. At 3" you won't be able to get back to where it needs to be and have excessive positive camber \ /.

How I did my coils and got a 4 inch lift for $30.00

I put f-150 mabey even f-250 coils under mine they work great

I don't even like Ranger coils on these rigs, let alone a half-ton or 3/4 ton spring. Suspension is designed to move and flex, not just be taller than stock and stiff as a board....

Yes, they are. If he went to the Denver store, they have some not-so-smart folks there, and I had a little go-round with them.

But the 2" skyjacker coils didn't raise my '92 supercab up 2", it only seemed to raise it about 1". I think I've read that Jeep coils will fit, and are much softer than even our stock coils. I'm considering going with some longer Jeep coils for my '87. Have to see what works, and it should give you better flex too.

edit: Here we go, this is what I read.

They base the 2" of lift on a reg cab 4cylinder truck, they will sag down on a super cab truck. I'd get the Skyjacker leveling coils and adjust the final height with some steel washers to get it to sit level.
