My credo
A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
Got a bone-stock XL 4x4 with "Sport" package, 15-inch wheels. Getting ready to tackle ball joints and other front-end issues, and I was underneath, scoping things out, and trying to get in the mood, lol.

Anyway, I noticed my rubber bump-stops, on the frame cross-member (which determine when you "bottom out", right?), are less than an inch from the lower control arms... and I haven't been off-roading for a LONG time... and I'm thinking "I don't remember what that gap was when new, but that's not a lot of wheel travel there..."

SO... time for a click or three on the torsion bars? New shocks too?

there isnt a lot of wheel up-travel on an IFS front end from the factory, if yours has settled, it hasnt settled much. but its possible your t-bars have settled a little with use. worn shocks will also cause sagging.

How would worn shocks cause sagging? The torsion bar is the 'spring', the shock as nothing to do with it.

Sounds about normal for clearance between the bumpstops.

gas charged shocks want to be uncompressed, thus they are trying to hold the truck up when fresh. its not a lot of force, but then it doesnt take a lot of force to lift the front of a truck. you can change the ride height of a truck just by tugging up on the front bumper with one hand.

i will say i've seen a fresh set of shocks lift a vehicle .25-.40in when changed. the whole gas charged thing add's to the "spring rate" of your t bars. alternatly if its time for balljoints im sure its time for shocks as there worn out with the balljoints. i know at work i'd rec both
