dana 30

i am doing a front axle swap what will i need for the swap if i get a dana 30. on a 87 ranger 4x4

Well for starters, this is in the wrong section. Second take a look around the site. Use the search button to help you out.

Look in the RBV under construstion area. You can also look at my build thread of my D30 SAS, link is in my sig.

Theres no defined list of what you will need, al of them are different from eachother.

Well just responded to your other post and saw you wanted to do a D30 swap. If your going for a rock crawler, D30 isnt what I would use. Your looking more a D60 swap.

Moved to non-RBV axles

Agreed, a Dana30 is a poor choice for a crawler or if you plan on much bigger than 33" tires.
I would suggest a Dana35 from an Explorer, which is basically a bolt-in swap, or use a Dana44 from an early Bronco or '80s Jeep Wagoneer. Both the D35 and D44 are good to 35" tires (37s if you treat it nice), and have a plethora of locker options available. Above that, then yes, a D60 from a F-350 would be the next logical choice (can be narrowed to RBV width if you so choose, though I'd leave it wide, myself).

Like 83 said, have a look around the site, there are a number of past discussions about the various axles and what not that can be found using either the Search box up at the top of the page, or via the forum's own Search engine located on the header bar at the top of the thread.
