Front axle knock

Ever since I put a new axle shaft in the front of my b2, I hear a clunking noise in the front end of her, mostly just when it gets torque applied like from going to forward or reverse, almost seems like there is some give up there in the shafts somewhere. I had her jacked up and tried moving the tire back and forth and it's not falling off. I've replaced plenty of shafts before and never had this problem. Could it be a c- clip worked it's way off and the shaft is going in and out a small bit? I cant think of what else it could be. It sounded good when before it came apart. And I never noticed any play in the u joints when I installed the new shaft. ( put in the passenger side inner and outer shaft together so I never had to change any u joints). If I cant soon find the problem I'll probably haul out the shaft again, replace it with a new u joint and double check everything when I put it back together.
Geez this takes a long time to type on iPad touch screen lol

somebodys gotta have some ideas.. help please!
