From Winnipeg, have a Ranger

Hey all! I should have joined up way earlier. I've had a ranger since about last year and this forum has been a great resource. Didn't buy it in the greatest shape, but it lasted the winter with little to no maintenance.

I've got the 2.3L 5spd from '97 and I love it. It's the first car I've taken apart and put back together...which is kind of why I'm here. I'm really close to having everything back in place, but I've got a few questions about the wiring harness(es) that I'll be posting in the electrical subsection.

As for what I've done with the truck: I've stripped the frame and primed it with 2-part epoxy primer then rhino-lined it after. I've replaced most of the bushings, the shackles, and the shocks. The All of the gaskets in the motor were replaced, and I've put in a new heater core.

Apart from that, I slapped a manual steering gear box in there and got new tie rods. I can't wait to drive it!

Yes, welcome to TRS....

Sounds like what I did to my Ranger when I first got it...and it's been on-going since then...lol

Glad you enjoy working on the truck and were able to find some help on here...there is always something new to learn about these trucks...or ways to do what you've already done better!

I wish I'd taken "before" pics too, because the rust was pretty bad. Tons of dust too because the PO drove gravel roads all the time.
