I have had plenty of rangers in the past and i got rid of them, the most really ever having a 3" BL and 35's. So the hunt started for another ranger, it started out i was gonna just throw a 6" susp, 3"BL and 35's. Well then i joined this site and decided to go further so i started looking for another ranger. Everything i found was to much for me to spend and still do the things i wanted to it so I came across a buddy that wrecked his and figured I could fix it. I originally wanted a 4.0 5spd 93-97 but the one i settled for was a 3.0 5spd 94with a new motor(new used 51,000 miles new clutch). The price was definately right even though it needed a lot of work $300. I went to pick it up and started regreting it, it was worse then i thought. The front was messed up pretty good, which is no big deal because i took autobody in high school, the clumn was broke and all the plastic around it the pass side door didnt shut, the box was caved in, and the corner of the roof was tore open. All my buddy's said I was nuts that its junk and I said o well. So i got it down to my garage, it took 2 hours to get it on the trailer cuz the steering box was broke, and hook a chain to the front radiator support and yanked it with my dodge. I wanted to get things away from the motor to see how bad it was. To my suprisie it didnt go into the motor or even brake the fan, i was releived at that. since it was outside my garage I had to find a way to get it inside so i decided to get it steering again. I went to autozone and bought a new steering box, thought it would be a lot more 160 brand new. I went to- the junkyard and got a new column, a rad, front fiberglass header panel, and a lund lighted visor for 150. I put the column in and the box and a new surp belt. It fired rite up and i drove it in the garage. Then the work started I ripped the whole front end and the box off, even cut out the rad support and halfway back the pass side. I went to throw my body lift on and realized the back driverside cab mount was rotted off since i couldnt find one so i made one. Then i ripped the hole front rear out and said the hell with it sas the bitch. So i went to the locall rear guy and told him i needed a shoebox rear and a rear 44 out of a scout(i dont like the 9inch) then i brought it home and called up A and A auto i order a set of 35-12.50 BFG mud terrain KM2. I got a set of coils off of a buddy that had a shoebox for $75 and other parts from another buddy that did this before and had a lot of leftovers. So last nite i got the rear and stripped it down and that is where i am at now.

tatal price so far:
truck-300
steering box-160
whole front end body panels-100 local jy
rad n column n visor-150
4 tires-760

nice going with a solid axle. what are u gonna do about that bent frame?

spaz the frame isnt bent it just looks that way because of the rotted off back cab mount and 2 of the tires were flat

i was told by many people, even the rear guy, that the 9 in isnt as strong as the 44 in stock form its only stronge if upgraded, i dont know this i just went with what i was being told

oh from the pictures it looked that way. either good builld thus far keep up the good work and stay on them pics maybe alil bigger? the 9inch is the strongest rear that ford makes:headbang: but im not sure about the dana corp. so the 9inch is not a bad axle:icon_thumby:

The 31-spline exploder 8.8 is stronger than pretty much any 44. Your rear end guy must be one of those chevy guys with a groundless disdain for anything that came out of a ford... He didn't try to sell you a 10 bolt and tell you it was the best axle ever made, did he?

no actually he is a big ford guy, he has a 79 4 door f350 on rockwells and 67's with a 460 and 2 four barrels that says CHEVY EATER on it, lol, but he wasnt the only one that told me that, o well whats done is done i got the 44 i gues i will see if it holds up, if it doesnt i will get the 9in

i like how the rims are powercoated in the pockets to match the truck that looks cool
