Hi Everyone,
Just picked up my new (to me) 2004 Ranger Edge SuperCab 2WD on Friday Night. 71,000 miles, but it appears the previous owner took excellent care of her. She also came with an A.R.E. MX Series cap to keep all my stuff clean and dry.
I'm moving to the Ranger from a 2000 Land Rover Discovery II I've been driving since 2004. I loved the Disco, but she just blew a timing cover gasket and that was going to cost me $1100 to replace. The Disco also had 175,000 miles on her and the head gaskets had never blown; a rare situation for the Disco II's. So the combination of $1000 timing cover gasket job, $3000 head gasket job lurking, and the possibility of $4/gal gasoline returning make me turn back to Ford.
Anyway, I've already found a ton of great info here from you guys who possess all the knowledge. So thanks from a newbie!
