excuse me for my stupidity but could i do that, and how much would it cost me?

damn thats way out of my price range but ill figure something out

Not trying to be a jerk but use the search. So many different things happen during these swaps, so most aren't the same. Things like, do you have your engine/tranny, EFI or carb, exhaust, are you gonna do the work or have someone else do it ( remember fab work is expensive), etc. Do a little homework on the subject( I looked for about 2 years before I did mine), and it still took a month to complete(if you call what it is today complete), in a full dress shop. Its not hard but not exactly easy either.

Its not like you have to have all the money up front right away... If your serious about the swap start collecting some parts. If your patient you can always find good deals. I collected parts for mine for about 3 months before i touched my truck. Thats just cause im in highschool and only make 11 bucks an hour :(. Is this your daily driver... if it is you mind need to lend a parents car for a month or so because its not a weekend job to do the swap. It took me like 2 months to get mine done working a couple hours a weekend with me and my dad.

alright what about a 351cleavland? because a buddy of mine has a couple of them and he said he could give me a good deal

Thats doable, its harder than a 302 swap but still doable... I dont know much about those motors besides the heads have some big ass ports atleast the 4v ones do...

We have around 1500 in parts in our conversion and thats with us doing all the work .

If you look under "My little Iron Ranger" in the RBV's under construction section here, All that work, truck restoring and motor stuff, I put well over $2500 into the thing, but if you take your time, talk to some people, and plan it out, you could have a smashing awesome truck. You would be amazed at how much people would be willing to help.

Me and my older brother are building the motor together. Why? I make $14 an hour and he makes much more than that. But he is glad to help. Because whatever he buys, I can repay him over time, so its like a non interest bank loan.

Plus, we are very stubborn perfectionists, so we spared no expense on the truck.

Also, you can take as much time as you want. The faster you want it done, the more $$$$$ you have to shell out. but if you shop ebay(a lot) and check the junk yards and some DIY's, it will turn out even better.

If you want to research the basics, time, and parts you'll need, go to
http://www.mre-books.com/ranger.html. This manual was very helpful in what I am doing on my truck. Lots of info in this thing, thats for sure.
