Ok, since the shop hasnt touched the thing in 3 weeks and i wanted to play with my new code reader i went down and plugged it in...

97 F250 HD 7.5L (460)
A few stored codes related to shit i had unplugged, but an interesting one was code 327, EGR valve position below min voltage and EVP/EPT sensor below minimum voltage.

Im getting a rich condition and a bad missfire when warm, cold it runs good.

WTF does all this mean?

It's common for the EGR to corrode and stick and give a bad reading for the computer.

It's also normal for a Ford to have a Check Engine Light.

I've never had a Ford without a Check Engine Light. It's the calming amber glow. Our 2013 Focus (which my wife bought without telling me) has the Check Engine Light glowing. My 2000 E350 Powerstroke always had the comforting Check Engine Light.

The last Ford I had without that warming glow was my 1964 Galaxie 500.

I feel like an idiot....

In my haste to blame EFI componets i missed the simple shit...

Damn plug wire on the back pass side cyl was completly blown out. Better the any i ever seen. All is well now. No longer do i have a 7.5L V7.
