it was a good day.i worked hard all day, made a shiney boat shineyer.
there's a guy who got hold of some equipment when the military base here shut down(it wasn't worth it to them to ship it off-island)but he found it took up too much space in his shop....so,he asked if i would take it...but he may need to use it every now and then.
sounded good to me
one item was a 4' brown and boggs shear,18ga capacity.not too bad,but it's not the best part.
this is an 8' roper-whitney(pexto)convertible box and pan brake.top-of-the-line piece of equipment.
it has the bolt-in fingers to allow any length of bend needed to make pans or other complex bends....but if they are all removed, there is a solid edge for long even bends.nice
another nice little item...or itemS..a pair of 200hp evinrudes.seems one of them quit on a guy's boat,so he bought a new pair of engines.these sat cluttering up his front lawn for a few months...i cleaned up for him.they both have stainless props($) and one is counter-rotating.
apperantly, the one that quit didn't blow up,it just stopped.probably an electrical issue.worst case,i got one good 200hp motor.it would be a good spare for the old boat.
speaking of the old boat, weather's supposed to be good tomorrow,so i'll head out and see if i can catch some (not so) free dinner
