Free-floating rocker mod with PVC

From Sven Pruett's How to Build and Modify Ford V6 Engines pg59 - Each side of the rocker shaft has a combined side clearance of .020-.030" (.010-.015" for each rocker arm). - Pertaining to the rocker arms spacers.

Hell no! I'm still old school. Hate computers. I'd rather drop in a Ford 427 SOHC big block. LOL

So am I. I dropped a HO 302 that is carved under the hood along with a manual trans.

Why don't you just drop in a v8? I loved my old 2.8 that was replaced by my 302 but it just couldn't do highway speeds and gas mileage was terrible, even when my truck was stock. I figured instead of investing into an engine that doesn't have much aftermarket, put one under the hood that does and had almost no limit to what you can do to it.

Someday I probably will. But the problem now is.....I don't have a garage, it's been raining almost everyday for about a week. It finally stopped yesterday so I can work on it again. I've been unemployed since last October, so I need to watch my money. I've already got a bunch of parts for this engine, so I might as well fix this one up a bit. It's gonna get pretty cold out soon and I'd like to finish this before the snow flies. I still need to order some parts for the body still, and I don't want to spend it all at once.

I do plan on the V8 swap someday, but when I do I'll need to change out the transmission and transfer case, plus both differentials and driveshafts. So that'll cost a few more dollars.

My plan right now is to do this sloooowlyyyy. After I get this on the road, I'll grab a Dana 35 and an 8.8 out of the junkyard and start modifying those. But that'll probably be when it gets warmer.

You don't need to change out the axles, but you can. My 7.5 is holding up for now but I'm not trying to break it either.

Wish I could give you the 2.8 sitting in my garage. Ran fine and didn't use oil either. Plus comes in the awesome color yellow.
