I have 2 1996 extended cab rangers,1 is a 4x4, the other is a 2 wheel drive. Unfortunately I got hit hard in the rear on the 4x4 and needs a frame, can I use the 2 wheel drive frame and swap everything over??

If they are both torsion bar suspensions or both ttb coil spring then essentially yes. If the 2wd is A-arm with torsion springs and the 4wd is ttb with coils then not really.

Yeah, it's possible. How bad do you want that 4x4? To mount the front drive axle you will need to swap the engine crossmember from the 4x4 frame to the 2wd frame. It can be done, it is a ton of work, but you are doing most of it already.

The biggest catch is that the piece you need is welded to the frame rails, and some of it's welds are under the steering reinforcement, which itself is welded to the frame.
