Frame Compatibility

You should be alright with a standard or supper cab frame. I sold a guy the back part of a supper cab for his standard cab. It worked fine. Just need to mesure everything.

Back to this, I need a frame segment then, unless I get that, there is no project, the frame is its lifeline right now =P

The engine needs a little work, and is not worth working on if it has a useless rear end, if I were to hit a pothole (any pothole) at around 25mph (my road's speedlimit), I would break the shackle mounts on the driver's side off.

You want a frame? the U-pull-it's here will sell you one.

The quote I got for Pickapart was $160 for the 5' of frame off another ranger if I do the work, this is with the shackles on it, what would make it cheaper if I drove farther to get the same priced item? I dont have the gas money to pay for something like that, In a few weeks I could buy the frame segment, but guess what? the gas money would be high because its a 2 hour drive, and our F150 gets 12mpg.

Kip gen 1 2 and 3 should all be the same, anything after 96 I cant tell ya for sure. But it seems to me if your patient and put enough thought into it you can find a roller for 300 or less. take it home, not only have good parts but spares also.

dad doesnt want spare parts or disabled vehicles laying around

You can always junk the spare when your done and get some of your moeny back.

But will your dad see it that way, and if he dont can you convince him?(if you can you should sell cars)

$160 not a bad price. How much do the shackles cost, the nuts and bolts to hold them on? You might even be able to get the bumper mounts out of it. I hate to be the one to say it but nothing in life is free. (also you can add other stuff to the frame and say it is part of the frame bolt a lift block to it and say its part of the frame:D)

yeah, but if they want that much, I have to also get enough money to pull a 12mpg (highway) F150 too and from a junkyard 2 hours away!

Totaling about $210

Now if I can plan a day to go up with a friend, or dad (doubt it, he hates me putting ANY money into the truck, saying that he would have me rather not even touched it in the first place =P), and bringin 2 hacksaws, some hackblades, and a oxy-asedyline torch, which will cost me about $30 in oxygen on a good day.

So maybe a total of $210 round trip, with oxygen. But I will save up more like $300 or so and then go, because I want some other parts for the truck aswell, and if I see em, I am gonna take em (like a kid in a candy store), I like fixing everything, so it'll be a challenge for me.
