I have 1987 polaris trail boss 250 2-stroke that likes playing mind games with me.
It all started after it sat for 2 years after my dad died and it wouldn't start, I then cleaned out the carb many times and I got it running, but it didn't idle very smoothly. It ran good for about 2 months until it died while idling and just wouldn't start up again. I then rebuilt the carb and it still wouldn't start. I tried to then pour gas strait into the engine through carb, and it started after a few pulls and tried to overrev, big surprise, and when it would start to rev down, I could hit throttle and keep it running, so I tinkered with set screws until it idled semi descenlty, but when I shut it off it won't start again until I pour gas into the engine again, and repeat the process, anybody have ideas how to get it to start?

your choke working?

^ X2 and also check the idle jet in the carb, it may be stopped up
