Hello Rangers!

I am new to this forum. I just purchased a (one owner) 1998 Ford Ranger 4x4 (6-cylinder automatic).

Because it was a one-owner truck, and I am discovering things that arise after the 117K mileage history. The vehicle spark plugs were still in it when I had it checked for rough acelaration. Mechanic replaced allplugs, but not the spark plug cables nor teh coil. Question: Can I replace the cables myself, and if so, what are the main things I should take care to do?
Thank you..

Replacing the cables is something most anyone can do. I prefer to replace each cable one at a time (don't yank them all off at once) -- otherwise there's a decent chance you will mismatch them to the wrong plug. I use a small dab of dielectric grease inside the boot of each wire end to help seal and make it easier when you want to remove them later on. Hold the cable by the end boot and snap in place (some may require a little force to snap to the plug).
