The plastic bushing (highlighted in yellow in the diagram) in my 1985 Bronco II disintegrated from age and new bushings from Ford are NLA. So I had a friend that owns a machine shop make me one from a drawing I made. He sent me three of them, two brass and one plastic. I installed one of the brass ones and it worked perfectly. Getting into and out of 4WD is now a two second job. I'll sell the leftover bushings for $5.00 each, just to cover the cost of shipping. Email me at threers at frontiernet dot net if you want one.

The bushing is still available from Ford. Have them look it up for a 2001. The part is a little different, but works properly.

Could that be for a 2002. I am not aware of any manual shift transfer case in 2001.

I just bought that bushing for my 97 ranger a couple weeks back from my local ford dealer. Part number is 3L5Z-7335-AA.

After 1997 they were extremely rare, but they were available, per the shop manual and parts catalog.

Do you still have the other brass one? My dad needs one for his 2002 ranger he just replaced the trasmission in
