Found this on FB Marketplace...

Ive seen a lot of fake ads, “too good to be true “ type stuff. This might be one of them.
And if you post anything for sale you get scammers asking for a “code”. thats bull$hit too. What kills me is the “vacation mode- seller not accepting any messages “. so why is the ad even up?

Marketplace is becoming filled with bogus ads. They are kinda fun to pick out. I usually start with the FB account of the poster of the ad. They show no history, no friends, no posts etc, which is typical of spammers. I followed up on one for backhoe just to see how it would go down. Because it was supposedly located locally, I wanted to go look at it. I was told the unit was already at a shipping facility All I needed to do was send funds electronically to a third party and the unit would be shipped right to my door.
I continued the ruse by telling them I'd be happy to wire them the money, but I needed to get into my safe deposit box to access the funds. All I needed was $150 to have a new key made for my box because I had lost it.
They didn't bite -- I tried.

Here is one that's pretty funny.

Guy wants $4500 for a truck where the frame is literally broken is half. If you look close you can see the bed and the rockers are also rusted pretty good too.

That frame dont look that rusty. Wondering how bad he had it overloaded and twisted up. Too bad, decent truck otherwise.

I had that same thing happen. Found a super nice crown vic locally for 800 bucks. Seemed fishy but its a crown vic....people give those away. Texted the guy said it was his aunts car. Texted "the aunt" and said it was in in kansas ready to ship. After blowing up the picture there was a for rent sign in the yard...looked up the area code came back denver colorado. Sneaky bastards.

Exactly.

Although I do realize who I'm talking to. There is a good amount of body rust for the asking price, even if we ignore the frame broken in half. Rockers are gone Few spots on the bedsides too. Probably more rust on that thing then you can see in the pictures.

Even as rusty as most of my shit is and as hard as ive been known to use them ive never had a frame fail. Athough my ranger actually has a pretty clean frame.

But yes...i get your point lol

I can explain this... He put the decimal point in the wrong spot. He meant $450.
