Hello everyone. I was inspecting my engine bay and found this rubber plug on top of the engine, near the thermostat housing where the heater hose 90s down. I looked on the intake and couldn't find a hole this size and afaik there's no drivability issues or codes. Any help identifying this is greatly appreciated.

Someone may recognize it. Or it might not even be part of that vehicle. I found money laying on top of the engine (coins) in my Superduty.

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't there a few months ago when I replaced my thermostat housing. So far I can't tell any difference in the running. Perhaps it's a cover for a screw or something.

Not positive... but it could be a "bumper" from the engine cover.
Thanks for the reply. I'll look at the TB cover but I don't recall seeing anything but three screw holes to mount it. I'll inspect the area and the air intake hose.

I don't recall ever seeing a bumper for the engine cover. Is it attached to the bottom of the engine cover?

Sorry been away for a while. So, I think I know what it is now. Last November had the evap core change. Haven't really looked at this area since I installed thermo housing. Noticed this thing while doing tune up. Now, I've got to replace my ac system again! Prior to the evap job, I had them replace compressor, condenser, and the usual parts. When I looked at my new accumulator, the pipe is sealed with this plug! Thanks for all the replies guys! Now, I've got to learn how to replace entire system and figure out what's the felt washer that came the new motorcraft compressor lol!

wild guess, felt washer could be soaked with lube and put on a shaft???
