my skid plate had a little bow to it, so i reinforced it with some more square tube, but i seemed to have a welder malfuntion (melted tip i thought), but after a quick peek realized that after 3 years of miscellaneous welding i had finally burned through my second 40lb spool. i got more wire today (only 10lbs this time cause that shits expensive!) so i should be able to finish welding and grinding tonight and then prep it for some POR15.

sweet so can i ask to have that bumper sent to me? lol but def looks good man how does that por15 work? does it lay down nice? does it really seal the rust like it says it does? i need something to paint my frame, susp and bottom of my cab and bottom of my bed with.

the por 15 works great. you can spray it with a gun, brush it on, roll in on, wipe it on with a rag, etc. it is really messy though and when you get it on your hands you litterally have to wear it off. it seems to make clean up very easy though after you go down some dirt roads and get mud all over the undercarriage and suspension parts you can just take the hose and it rinses right off. 2 coats of POR 15 usually does the job, followed by a top coat of your choice because it is UV sensitive.

dude you truck is so bad ass.. i wish i had a welder and money to put into my truck. keep up the good work \m/(>.<)

Make sure you don't get any on your hootus.

Truck is looking good! :icon_thumby:

yeah, if you have to pee, take your gloves off, you dont want to get that on you hootus (that was a funny thread!). i actually have quite a bit of paint on my hands and i keep trying to wipe it off because it looks like grease but its not going away! i got more gloves today so im going to put the second coat on tonight and then i just need to decide on what im going to use as a top coat.

heres what i decided to use for a top coat, ive got 2 cans of the fleet paint and 1 can of the bed liner. im going to spray the diamond plate with the bed liner for traction when working under the hood, ill use the fleet paint for the rest of the bumper and skid plate.

As you can see in the picture... the bed liner is made just for rangers!!

sweet shit man how much does a gallon of por15 cost?

heres some more progress for you to feast upon, i got the bumper and skid painted and installed, i got the hilift mounts painted and installed, i fixed the annoying shifter knob rattle i had, and i scanned it and found some codes after finding out i only got 14.5 mpg out of the last tank (less than 200 miles on 13.6 gallons of gas)

Hey man! It's looking awesome. Can you grab some more pics of the jack brackets for me. I want to make some that go under my bed rail or against the front on my bed under the tonneau cover but I need some inspiration.
