I'm getting ready to put disc brakes on my Early Bronco D44. I was talking to some friends who suggested I try to get the chevy disc setup for the D44 over the Ford version. I can get the Ford stuff brand new as a kit but the chevy stuff would be a scavenger hunt. Any ideas why the chevy stuff would have an advantage over the Ford stuff?

Chevy would be a 6 lug setup.

All brands aside, if my choices were new or used parts, I'd use new any day.

Just to add to Explorin94's comment..... you would also want to convert all four to six lug. This would probably cost more in the long run by the time you factor in parts and rims.

I would go with the Ford stuff so as to wind up with the 5 lugnut pattern. Chevy's 6 lug never grabbed me right.

Go with Chevy brakes and use Ford hub and rotor, very simple conversion, keeps it 5 lug.
