i doubt itll come to reality, i just read fords gonna be closing their austrailian production plants.
things like this really bug me, especially the colorado ii thats only in austrailia. i wish my terrain was body on frame had 4x4 and a turbo diesel, but nooooo.

It could just be a mule to test something unrelated too.

See the gap in the bodylines behind the front door? It looks like an Edge/Escape/Explorer rear end fiber glassed onto a Ranger cab. That is in no way a finished body, it is a rolling hack job.

I really don't know what they are doing, the body isn't enough of a finished product to test for driving dynamics or squeaks and they wouldn't have to camo anything like that to test powertrain stuff for the Ranger...

If you read the article, its a left-hand-drive, so its probably not out of an Australian production plant to begin with. If I was to guess, they just have nice testing facilities there (Who didn't see all the Global Ranger vids?) and the fact its stupid-hot in australia also helps with testing.
