Ford teams up with Toyota

I saw that on jalopnik.com today. Pretty cool! I'm all for automakers working together..

Sounds like an interesting venture. Will be interesting to see what they can come up with.

Yeah when i saw this it just made me happy to know that two competitors were willing to team up to find a solution to the bad gas mileage that trucks/ suv are know for.

ever hear of the 700r4 or aod?

:icon_rofl:

both transmissions i like too btw....

If Ford stays true to form, they'll pretend to work with Toyota until they gain some rights to the system and then they'll suddenly pull out and use what they gained to build their own stuff.

You'd have to be a stupidhead to work with Ford like that. Maybe if you kidnapped a child from each Ford executive and held that child in the highest room of the tallest tower under the care of a dragon for the duration of the agreement...maybe.

"With new government fuel-economy standards on the way calling for a corporate average of 54.5 miles a gallon by 2025, automakers are going to have to use hybrids and other means to try to meet it."...

Instead of their kids being locked in a tower its going to be all of that money they will be losing to the government for penalty taxes that i have no doubt will be implied. So its either lose money from penalty taxes, drop the truck line to increase mpg avg and loose money in sales, or team up with the competitor to figure out a solution to crappy mpg in trucks/ suvs.

THIS IS TRUE IIIFF TOYOTA does not beat them to it....

It's retarded... If I wanted 54.5 mpg, I'd buy a ****in moped....
