I've probably put this in the wrong section but this site confused me.

I have a 2003 Ford Ranger XLT Super Cab (6.0 cyl 3.0 seq-port FI). I was wondering if anyone knows the biggest tire size I can put on it without a lift kit and without the tires scuffing when I turn?

I would love a lift kit but I don't have the $2,000 to get it done. So tires it is. Any input is helpful! Thank you!!

you have a 2wd or 4wd? Reason im asking is 4wd has a higher ride height stock. Also 2wd lifts you can find for under $500.

You can get a 3" lift for like $200. Is your truck a 4x4 or 2wd?

Woops forgot to add that. It's (luckily) a 2WD.

Do you have a preferred brand? Like I said, I know absolutely nothing about this, sorry!

Your welcome. And with that you could fit 31's nicely. Maybe 32's

What are your intentions withthis truck? Is it just a Pavement Princess or you going to offroad it?

Body lift is the cheapest.. I but may not be the best! I have had a few of them. I have no issues to report but there are some cosmetic things that I don't care for. The gaps between the body and bumper can look really goofy on some trucks. And some times the shifter binds in the boot.

Some kits come with the components to fix those issues. Do some more reasearch on the body lift for your truck, so you can make an informed decision, of your own.

Keep us posted on your truck! I we love to watch people spend money! :icon_cheers:

I don't intend on off roading with it, unfortunately not many places to do that around here. I'm mainly wanting it so it's more aesthetically pleasing. I just don't like how small the tires are, but to go any bigger on the tires I feel like I would need to get a lift kit so they don't scuff the wheel well.

Some jackass stole the truck in November and I just got it back yesterday (all fixed up) so I have the urge to spend money on it now :P

Wow that sucks. How long did he have it and was it wrecked?

He had it from November 30th to I think December 10th. What he did to it was a mystery... it wasn't in horrific shape but they replaced front & back bumpers, part of the hood, front left light and somehow the guy bent both front wheels so they replaced those as well. Lots of minor scratches and dents taken out.

I had just bought the thing less than two months before he stole it, too.

Thumbs up for full coverage insurance! :icon_thumby:

Sounds like he had some fun with it. I hope suspension stuff didn't get messed up if he bent both front wheels. People these days! Glad you got it back though. I wish I had full coverage I just have liability.

I usually just get liability, but I financed the truck and Chase Auto requires full coverage. I'm jealous of the color of your truck... I love that blue. That's the color I wanted but then I found a 2003 with 70,000 miles for $8,000 and couldn't really pass that up.

The question is, did they catch the booty bandit that stole it?
