Ford Ranger Mazda B-series compatability

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger that has a great engine in it but the frame has a decent amount of rust on it. I'm just wondering how difficult it would be to put my current engine in it.

Is the rust just surface rust or actual rot?

The motors should be the same as long as they are both flex fuel or not.

I have a mazda motor in my ranger, if it is the same generation it will go in fine

a ranger and a Mazda is the same beside the front dog house and the bed everything is a ranger beside that if there the same generation it will work just fine

being and 02 i cant believe the frame could be that rusted
